The “3rd Gymnasio of Elefsina” is a secondary school for students of age between 12 and 15 years old. Our school is situated at the historic city of Elefsina (or Eleusis), about 20 Km NW of Athens and with a population of 30000 people.

Elefsina is known as the site of the ancient “Eleusinian Mysteries” (Ceremonies for the cult of ancient Greek goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, 1600 BC-396 AD), the birthplace in 525 B.C. of Aeschylus (one of the three greatest ancient tragedians) and as a major industrial area of Greece today. Elefsina together with Athens, Olympia, Delphi and Delos were the five sacred cities of ancient Greece.
The students and teachers of our school are committed in actively participating through the educational process in cultural, environmental and athletic events.
Finally, we have put a lot of effort in joining European projects and working together with other schools from Germany, Spain and Sweden. Here you can find an updated list of our European projects.
